Benefits of NACOPRW-SoCal Membership
|

Cultural activities address different aspects of Puerto Rican life (history,
traditions, cuisine, folklore, etc.).

Business meetings allow for members' participation in the chapter's
decision-making process.

Involvement in the chapter's committees and/or Executive Board provides ample
leadership opportunities.

Special annual events include a Family Picnic in June, and "Parrandas
Navideņas" in December.

Networking with other organizations such as: BoriDivas, California Association
for Bilingual Education (CABE), Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center,
Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center, Puerto Rico Federal Affairs
Administration (PRFAA), Puerto Rico Industrial Development Co. (PRIDCO),
"Turismo de Puerto Rico," etc.

Community involvement includes donations of non-perishable items, clothing,
household items, toys, and volunteer work.

Youth 7-17 years of age develop leadership skills and experience the Puerto
Rican culture in the Youth Leadership Group/Committee.

Opportunities to meet and network with other Puerto Ricans locally, and
nationally (National Convention).

Receive members' bulletins and SoCal newsletter.

Members' discount of 10% or more in most chapter's activities, advertisements,
merchandise, etc.

NACOPRW-SoCal Membership Classifications
|
Active membership: Women of Puerto
Rican origin or descent, eighteen (18) years of age or older who commit to the
purpose and goals of the chapter. They have voting rights at chapter level and
participation in the selection of delegates to represent the chapter at the
National level. Eligible for office in the Executive Board after six (6) months
of being an active member.
Associate/At large membership: Persons,
eighteen (18) years of age or older who contribute resources and funds in
support of the chapter's purpose and goals, and provide valuable services to
the SoCal chapter. These members have no voting rights and do not have the
right to run for office, but have the right to be heard at meetings.
Institutional membership: Entities
who contribute resources and funds in support of the chapter's purpose and
goals, and provide valuable services to the SoCal chapter. These members have
no voting rights and do not have the right to run for office, but have the
right to be heard at meetings.

NACOPRW-SoCal Membership Application
|
Thank you for your interest in our organization. To become a NACOPRW-SoCal member,
print and fill out front and back of the membership application form. Please mail the
application with a check payable to NACOPRW-SoCal (25422 Trabuco Road, Suite 105-334,
Lake Forest, CA 92630-2790). We hope to meet you soon!
